I just read the fb comments for the new ghostbusters trailer and dear lord, it's crazy. You can find it on the ghostbusters Facebook page, it should be their latest vid from the 21st of May. Anyways, all the men were awful, they really hated on it (whilst clarifying that they did not hate women, they just hated the movie in general, and then they whined about being criticised and called a sexist). And the comments were all somewhat fair arguments as to why the movie would suck but oh my fucking god. You can hate the movie all you want but fuck you in claiming that you're not a sexist and crying about how it's anti-"equalist" to present a male secretary character who is dumb and sexualised, but never saying a single thing when the shoe is on the other foot. Men have this inherent need to complain like the world hasn't been shaped and warped to their liking, that when women get the upper hand, they in turn have nothing and so women should be punished for it. When I read all these comments, they were all just dumb reasons to boycott a fucking reboot. Nobody likes reboots, the jurassic world film was plain awful, but I bet it never got as much hate as the new ghostbusters before it even came out. These commenters keep claiming that they aren't sexist and that they should totally be given a chance but you can just hear it in their words, the amount of hate the have. Maybe, this hate comes from being accused of something they feel they're not, a prejudice they don't think they have or maybe it's the fresh new trend that the men are picking up where they poke fun at social justice warriors and being sensitive to and open-minded about things that can make a minority of the population uncomfortable (but really, who has the time and effort to care about things like mental illness, like anxiety and shit which obviously don't exist because who REALLY has anxiety --and don't confuse anxiety with laziness, silly social justice warriors). But let's be real. Men just love to hate feminism. They'll hate on male feminists because guess what, it sounds and feels feminine to be a feminist and we men should never want to be feminine (because ew, let's not lower ourselves to such levels). I'm sorry I'm being mean and cynical about the subject but the only niceness in that comment section were the women who suggested that maybe they should've made a new alternative storyline for the all woman crew or that it looks fun (because it does look fucking funny (trailer 2 not 1 lol)). Anyways, night.

Life Update
- I got an allergic reaction to a new facial cleanser and my acne came back as a result and that just shits me. I tried to improve myself and I forked out a few extra dollars for a natural range of cleanser because why not, good for me, good for the environment -WRONG. I broke out in hives and my face peeled and my acne is back, in full force. I also got the flu or something right after the hit too? And I missed out on school and Old Boy was being screened for history and I MISSED IT and I'm so sad because I've been meaning to rewatch it and I could've on the big screen but I was SICK. Anyways, I hope Jess makes good use of the cleanser. If you're reading this, you better be using it everyday. The pump is good because one push and you have plenty to clean your face with because it lathers so well. Anyways. Enough complaining.
- Romantic advances? No. But whenever he comes to Coles to shop and he says hi and we talk, my work shift brightens up like a lot. Probably because I like him but also because it's nice to have someone to talk to but mostly because I like him.
- Jeff texted me but I was sick but once I recover and I get rid of a bit of acne, I'll let him know. I think the next time will be the last time I see him. It's gonna be SO GOOD. We've known each other a surprisingly long time.
- I've so much uni work dear lord. So basically, we have this essay due which is okay, I'll get it done. But I have a cinematography and design assignment coming up soon too but like myself and Lou, who's my partner for the coming cine assignment, didn't realise how soon it was?? And we chose a hard script to do because it's set in a convenience store?? And we don't really know anyone who would let us into their store for a shoot? So now we're gonna try and replicate it in a studio and that's gonna be so fucking hard. Anyways, we needed actors for our assignment so I asked other groups to help and I'm like trading my body for theirs? Essentially, if I act for one thing, the person I helped will act in mine. And that's fine and all but it takes time and I've so much shit to do!!! I'm trying to finish this essay early but work makes me tired and idk, idk idk idk.
- I'm in love with this duo called HONNE, their lyrics are sorta basic and too damn hetero but I just love their sound. Their kinda funky, kinda jazzy? techno and it's just nice to groove to. Warm on a Cold Night is great, I do recommend them for some easy breezy listening. And Baby Please just feels like a lazy Sunday morning.
- I'm doing an essay on Lars Von Trier's Dancer in the Dark and it's just so great.
- I've run out of things to say.
- Oh!!! I went to the doctor's today to get my blood test results and I'm allergic to grass pollen!!! That is all.

my attempt at distracting myself from the FUCKING BLEACH in my hair and on my scalp
It is so damn itchy but every time I scratch, it burns, so I'm gonna type non stop to busy my hands. There's a boy I like and I think he likes me too and he's not incredibly pretty but he's cute and he's toned. He has a boyish charm that I like however, I'm faced with a few problems.
I'm not sure if I actually do like him, or that I just like him a lot more because he's shown interest in me. That worries me quite a lot actually. I love attention. And that branches out into affection I guess, hey?
I have actually been attracted to him before but that was back when he was going to the gym :( LOL ANYWAYS, going past looks, I'm not quite sure we are that compatible? He's very active and he likes physical activities and me, well not so much. Once he described his experience quad biking to me and at the time, I was astonished that he was actually having such an active conversation with me because we had barely spoken before. I was also very charmed by his boyishness. But like, we don't have a lot in common? But at the same time, I feel like I could tell him all my secrets in exchange for his.
The other thing is that he thinks I'm really cool lol He admires me for who I am, my makeup and stuff like that and it's nice. I don't do the things I do usually for people to admire me. I do it more for the self confidence and satisfaction. But it's nice when he thinks I'm cool and I think that goes back to my love for attention and affection and I guess now admiration.
I'd like to see where this goes, but my worries lie within a future that's barely starting. Can I like him forever? Is he the best looking guy I can get? And I know I sound super shallow but like what if I stop liking him but also find that nobody else will love me so I stay?
I'm taking this way too seriously for what this is but hey, it's on my mind and my scalp buuuuuuurns.
Sorry I didn't edit this after reading but thanks for sticking through it. Okay, washing it out now, bye, wish me luck.

Peace in Diversity aka The White Disease aka Coloured People Exist Too Contrary To Popular Belief
I have to be up in 5 hours but I can't sleep because I was an IDIOT who bought coffee at 3:30 in the AFTERNOON. Anyways, in this period of neck cramps, itchy tatt and can't sleep for shit, I started thinking about Game of Thrones and how unbelievably white it was. And so I continued to google 'Where are all the people of colour in Game of Thrones' and I found an article about George R.R. Martin's various responses to race in his novels. Basically, he was like yeah they exist in my fantasy world but the region I focused on was based on the British Isles. And okay, cool, Martin but ya wrote a fkn fantasy novel. I enjoy watching GoT because it presents three-dimensional characters in thought-provoking and intriguing other-wordly scenarios whilst remaining plausible and realistic but your reasoning with "Westeros around 300AC is nowhere near as diverse as 21st century America" is shit. It's lazy and it's a shit excuse for omitting people of colour. The fact remains that you wrote these books in the 21st century and that these books are fictional fantasy novels that would've honestly probably felt the same had you included more races in your novel. I can see that you might have wanted to focus on class differences and social hierarchies based on power, not race but it's lazy and irresponsible. In this day and age it's irresponsible to avoid writing good parts for people of colour, to ignore that they exist, that they could exist.
As a writer, I understand that what you write and create is your own intellectual and creative property that you should have full control of and of course I believe that that should remain alive and true. However, that is the exact reason that I shame you for writing yet another unnecessarily white-centric story.
But it's not all your fault. It's not all your fault that the general public appreciates white stories more. It's not all your fault that such a majority of western movie audiences love the whites. And I guess I'm being unrealistic when I ask for more parts written for people of colour so that casting directors just can't ignore the fact that coloured people can play great roles too. Because it's a virtual truth that white faces on big screens make more money and that money makes the world go 'round.
But dear White People,
All I want is to be seen. All I want is for kids like me when I was younger to watch a film with a Vietnamese character who wasn't just there to yell di di mao! I'm so sick of The White Disease that demands itself be seen. I'm so sick of the racial injustices that is in itself Hollywood. And I'm sick of you white writers thinking that White's the default race. Guess what, us coloured people are capable of the emotions your characters feel but you didn't want to "make it all about race" aye. Well fuck you.
Please comment and correct me if you feel it's necessary.
